Matthew McConaughey
People is getting ready to issue the “Bachelor of the Year” edition and Matthew McConaughey is the choice for the magazine this year. He looks good for his age, but something about him has not ever put him in the “Wow” category for me.
Maybe it’s the lack of deodorant or [...]
Is “The Bachelor” a double standard?
Do you think that Jason Mesnick looks like a monkey? A cute one? (I’m up way past my bedtime, can you tell?) By now, you know that “The Bachelor” is also known as “the single dad from Seattle.” In case we forgot, this information was repeated at least 10 times during tonight’s premiere. Yes, Jason Mesnick is the first-ever single parent on “The Bachelor.” If you watched the the first episode, then you also know that four of the 25 bachelorettes are single moms. (Although we lost one tonig

Jason Mesnick: The New Bachelor
One of my favorite television has started tonight. The Bachelor is a reality quest about love looking for a soul mate. I’m sure every one is watching it, those who lived in the USA. This show is pretty much interesting. I always wait for this show every year. The new Bachelor is Jason Mesnick. He is 32 years of age, good looking and handsome, and a single dad. He loves sport, he used to be a golf pro at a local club. I’m very excited whose gonna win among the 25 aspiring bachelorettes. Remember

Promises Promises for the New Year - The Bachelor, Gossip Girl and More
I'm pooped from the holidays and while I really need/want to catch up at the movies (and I'm postponing my Best of Movies 2008 list until I see a few more films), I really need a night at home and get back to my beloved TV! I didn't even realize ABC burned off a new Eli Stone last week and NBC burned off another Lipstick Jungle but now ALL the craziness begins as tons of shows return over the next few weeks and a bunch of new ones start (see my updated Tapeworthy sidebar for the list). So much t
Why Do Black Girl Go On The Bachelor?
This is a question my brother posed to me a few weeks back. I sat tonight watching Momma's Boys and asked myself the same question. Momma's Boys is my new reality show addiction. There are three guys accompanied by their moms who are selecting from a group of women. Each week the crowd is whittled down as girl after girl is eliminated. I don't understand why the producers cast black girls when the guys and in this case their moms have absolutely no intention of picking a black girl. Of the t
Today is Kelvin’s 3 month birthday!! In some ways I can barely believe he’s that old already, but in other ways it just seems like he’s been here forever! *smile* I know I’ve been neglecting my poor blog the last few days. The beginning of the year is just such a busy time for me. I have statements to send out, taxes to do, filing cabinet contents to box up and store, etc. Plus, this year I have tons of coupon inserts to clip and organize (I guess the beginning of the year always brings lots o
Catchin’ Up
Whew, you ladies are AWESOME!! I am so excited about how many of you have signed up for The Challenge. I can’t wait to see where we all are at when this challenge comes to an end. I suspect we might be able to end this recession ourselves cause our hubbies are going to start solving all the world’s problems they will be so happy. I had such a lovely blogging break. Thanks so much for coming back around. We had a great Christmas filled with way too much food, way too many toys and, fortunately,
Leverage and the world in 2009
A recent article focused on satellite radio and the merger of XM and Sirius. In an interview with CEO Mel Karmazin, he said: Ironically, one rationale for the merger was the expectation that the combined company could borrow money more cheaply. “The bankers who covered the deal believed that one of the synergies of the merger was the ability to refinance at a lower level,” says Mr. Karmazin. Consider this: five years ago, Sirius, with 300,000 subscribers and no hint that Mr. Stern would be gra
The Bachelor 13: Jason Mesnick meets the bachelorettes

First, we are shown a glimpse of Jason Mesnick’s life in Sea
Happy Birthday to Me!
Today is my 27th birthday. :o) YAY! You're probably thinking "So, what did you do today?" Well, I'll tell you. lol Here's the rundown ....I woke up at 6:52 to my sister sending me a text message wishing me a happy birthday. After getting dressed and all we took JD to his first day of "school". He started daycare today for the first time. It's daycare but it's more of a learning center. A friend of ours a church owns it and it's brand new. It was hard for me to drop him off but he ended up having

What you may not (want to) know….
Calie Waterhouse and Gay Potter tagged me for a meme last week. I like the way @Tyler Hurst says it: “The rules are simple. Write seven things about yourself and then tag seven people, link to their blogs and ask them to do the same.” I leaned over the handlebars of my tricycle when I was 3 years old, in the garage at the top of the basement stairs, trying to talk to my mom who was downstairs doing laundry. Next thing, I know I’m flying through the air, then on her lap, crying. Result: I lo
LinkCrave: How to Ruin Your New Year’s Resolutions
Last year, GearCrave ran a widely popular article, a take on the foolish New Year’s Resolutions that people make– and how to break them in style. In celebration of this New Year, we considered putting together a renewed version. But looking back, our article on How to Ruin Your New Year’s Resolutions doesn’t need an update. Why? Head on over and read for yourself. Not only is it worth a laugh, its a great way to dump on those silly resolutions you know you’re never going to keep. Want t

Can MTV Bring Reality Television Back To Life?
With the whole Time Warner-Viacom face-off over New Year's, the anemic ratings of MTV's two newest reality shows may not have gotten that much attention from MTV executives. But now that the dust has settled, they will most likely be taking a second look at "The City" and "Bromance." Though the programs themselves have little in common ("The City" follows young fashionista Whitney Port as she tries to make her way in the big city; "Bromance" pits guys against each other in an effort to become
"Soup with Prince"
I did a lot of catching up on things I wanted to read over the holiday break, and part of that included knocking out a pile of magazines that had been accumulating at my bedside. A few back issues of The New Yorker were read, and in one I ran across a short piece by Claire Hoffman that just tickled me all over for some reason. An excerpt...The thirty-thousand-square-foot Italianate villa, built this century by Vanna White’s ex-husband, looks like many of the other houses in Beverly Park, a gated
