2007 VMA
It just seems like the 2007 VMA’s was one big joke.
Let’s see… Kid Rock/Tommy Lee, Britney, Kayne… I did see one young performer Chris Brown who danced well. But mostly the back-up dancers carried the performances and did better than the stars…. BORING!
Pressly assaulted, parents confirm Anne Pressly's parents confirmed in an interview today with NBCs Matt Lauer (link takes you to a page with a news account and a link to the 8-minute interview) that the former KATV anchor was sexually assaulted. Her mother also said her daughter broke her hand fighting her attacker. Also today: The affidavit submitted by LR police for the capital murder warrant naming Curtis Vance in the slaying of KATV anchor Pressly was released today. It doesn't contain
Tommy Lee Wallace to direct 'Hellversity'
Filmmaker Tommy Lee Wallace is set to direct the low-budget horror indie "Helliversity" for FarCor Studios and Indusa Global. Variety says the film follows a group of American exchange students haunted by a ruthless spirit inside a high-security university overseas. This gives travel abroad a new meaning, doesn't it? Wallace and Steve Langford penned the script for the flick, which will shoot for several weeks this coming March. Tommy Lee Wallace may not be a name you hear that often these d
PHILLIP SEYMOUR HOFFMAN NEEDS A HUG (OR SOMETHING)
Well, it’s pretty obvious that junkets don’t agree with actor PHILLIP SEYMOUR HOFFMAN. At the recent press day for DOUBT (the JOHN PATRICK SHANLEY film starring MERYL STREEP and AMY ADAMS) HOFFMAN got downright peevish when asked if he had an opinion about the character he plays in the film. I mean, REALLY…how dare a reporter ask an actor about the character he plays in a film during the course of a junket Q & A….. Move over, TOMMY LEE JONES, there’s a new junket actor as@ho_* in town. L

Battered at Barston!
I was really pleased to be asked to fish with 4 other of my Barnsley team mates in the International Rules league at Barston Lakes near Birmingham. Its one of my favourite venues and I just wish it was a bit nearer home! The matches are four hours long and fished to full international rules with a 13m pole limit and feeder fishing strictly prohibited!!! Lee Kerry had told us about how the venue was fishing and how he thought we should approach it on the way down. However, the thermometer never

Egg Bowl: Ole Miss 45, Mississippi State 0 The Sylvester Croom era came to an end yesterday after the Bulldogs were completely pantsed by Ole Miss in the Egg Bowl. Croom said all the right things, but from the outside, it's not entirely clear if he resigned or if he was resigned. Mississippi State is a hard place to win, no doubt about it, but the task isn't entirely impossible. Croom indicated that he felt he had maxed out what he was able to do in Starkville, but his accomplishments ther
Bill Bolling CARPET BOMBS Patrick Muldoon's campaign with masterful show of grassroots support
Bill Bolling CARPET BOMBS Patrick Muldoon's campaign with masterful show of grassroots support Posted by MAXIMUS Incumbent Lt. Governor Bill Bolling just started carpet bombing Patrick Muldoon's misguided candidacy to challenge him for the Republican nomination for the office of Lt. Governor. In a press release sent out yesterday, Bolling indicates he has locked down the support of the conservative grassroots movement and elected officals throughout the state. The carpet bombing of Patric
Sunday Prospect Fun
John Sickels of minorleagueball.com has ranked his Chicago Cubs Top 20 Prospects. Some of the names have been mentioned here, others haven't. I'll just post his top 10: 1) Josh Vitters, 3B, Grade B+: Hopefully the home run power should start to come in 2009. Great contact hitting skills and still very young. 2) Jeff Samardzija, RHP, Grade B: I have no idea what to expect here. Could be great, could be horrible, track record very erratic. 3) Ryan Flaherty, SS, Grade B: Looks like a solid
Sean Penn goes gay dying for another Oscar?
Sean Penn goes gay — dying for another Oscar? Good news for Sean Penn fans: At the end of "Milk" — SPOILER ALERT — you get to watch your hero get blown away by gunfire. Sorry, but that seems to be the price Penn must pay if he wants to win another Oscar to match the chunk of academy gold he nabbed for 2003's "Mystic River." That's because gay roles that win Academy Awards for actors almost always must suffer ghastly deaths. No star has ever won an Oscar for portraying a gay person who
Joost makes its way to iPhone - my first impressions
Eighteen months ago, when the ’sphere was abuzz with posts about Joost, I downloaded it, blogged, played with for a few days, and then it more or less faded from my radar. I’m not as big on TV watching as many, and Joost lacked a lot of the social features that made YouTube and Hulu so effective for me. But, while the YouTube experience on the iPhone is pretty cool, Joost offers one thing YouTube doesn’t: commercial content. So I installed Joost from the Appstore this morning. My expectation t
The Top 10 Most Ridiculous Movie Endings
Whether it’s an awesome movie or a terrible movie, nothing leaves you miffed like a crappy ending. If it was a great movie, then a ridiculous ending just ruined what should’ve been a cool two hours of your life. If it was a stupid movie, then a stupid ending is like adding insult to injury. Like a drunkard who just crashed your party and pissed all over the Tupperware, a bad ending kills everyone’s buzz. Warning: Spoilers Ahead! 10. Stephen King’s It – the movie, directed by Tommy Lee Walla
Cal Poly signs seven in Early Signing Period
FROM CBB NEWS SOURCE Courtesy of Cal Poly Media Relations SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. — Five high school players and two from community colleges have signed national letters of intent to further their baseball careers at Cal Poly. The announcement was made Wednesday by Mustang baseball coach Larry Lee and director of athletics Alison Cone. The group includes three pitchers, a catcher, one infielder and a pair of outfielders. “It’s a fairly small recruiting class that will hopefully fulfill ou
A Quantum of Oscar for Daniel Craig’s Bond
Okay, I admit, I’ve been seeing too many movies over the holiday weekend, but really, I have to pay tribute to Daniel Craig who’s re-invented James Bond and made him relevant to me. No longer a Bon(d) vivant, he’s an icon for the suffering soul of the age. Seriously! The film is full of chases but it’s all about faces, Daniel Craig’s faces of doubt, regret, sorrow, disilusion, betrayal, and above all lost love. It’s the best performance by a male actor I’ve seen all year (possible second: Tommy
THE "IRAQI" "GOVERNMENT" AND THE BEASTS KILLING THE INNOCENT IN MUMBAI JUST BROUGHT YOU A FRESH DECK: EIGHT MORE YEARS OF "FRIENDLY FASCISM"
"Of course we will have fascism in America but we will call it democracy!" -- Huey Long. Huey Long just didn't think big enough. Fascism's here. It's "friendly fascism" and it's called "Liberal Democracy with an historical, transformational kicker." There is now no reason for the new government to withdraw a single person from Iraq. Why should they? The Iraqis have requested no draw down through 2011. Mumbai has given President-elect Obama license to go far beyond what he proposed in the firs
Amityville II: The Possession
AMITYVILLE 2: THE POSSESSION is not only the crowning jewel of its franchise, but it is also, in my opinion, one of the best possession films out there. Due to its numerical title one might be tempted to read this prequel as an empty cash-in on its predecessor and scan right over its singular vitality. Closer inspection shows a film that is, for the most part, unabashedly willing to glare at the dark corners of family dysfunction and the role organized religion plays in how we perceive oursel
